The ones that stood out as leaders all worked hard to motivate the players to get along and play as a team. Coach Boone, the new African American head coach, pressed for the team to give it their all, to do as well as they possibly could, and to not strive for anything beneath perfection. Coach Yoast, the former head coach and now assistant coach, would encourage the players and did not believe winning was the highest priority, as long as they tried their best. The coaches had a conflict of interest most of the time during the film, but in the end, their different ideas helped the team and led them to a "perfect” season. Gerry Bertier, the team captain, showed his leadership in several ways. After a long time of fights and hatred towards each other, he became friends with Julius. Julius was appointed the other team captain role and is also an African American. Their friendship demonstrated, opposing to common belief at this time, that we can have friendships with people of a different race. The most significant leadership decision he made was when he decided to cut his best friend Ray. Ray could not look past the color of a man’s skin and it ended up hurting the team. Remember the Titans will forever be remembered as one of the best football and inspirational movies of all time. Even if you’re not a fan of the game of football, it is still a great story with an abundant cast of great actors. Without a doubt this is my favorite film of all time, not just because I love the game of football, but because it truly is a great film. The film has a way of sucking you into it and making you watch every single second of it very closely. When you are done watching the film, you want to restart it and watch it over and over again. I actually have done that, watching it multiple times and it never gets old. It is based on a true story which makes it even more awesome to watch and love. I have yet to find a truly bad review on this film and I doubt there ever will be. If you want to watch one of the best movies of this century that is based on a true story, and that truly reflects what was going on this world in the 70’s, and the troubles that people had to go through back then, Remember the Titans is the one to
