There are several types of zines, some about music, others about art, and then their are zines that have some of all of the arts. In the article “Nomadic Knowledge”; Men Writing Zines for Content Learning, the article states “Zinesters link images and text to express ideas in free-form and intuitive ways. Zinesters write on myriad topics, including “perzines” or personal zines, collections of the author’s own poetry and/or prose; political zines; feminist zines; comic zines; and zines on specific themes.” (Nomadic Knowledge, 1). Young people will do whatever it takes to see themselves in their work. For example two of the zines one looked at were about music. In this case the zines would have a lot of commonalities in the way they tried to reach their audience, but in their layouts, the zines differed some. Though they both spoke of bands, interviews, and artwork, they used different design qualities to address the issues they felt were important. Other zines and blogs talked about kids and animals, e-zine covers and poetry. All zines have one thing in common and that is giving others a voice, a way to channel their creativity, and a way to show their art to the public. Young people are always looking for a way to be different, or self expression. When they can 't find it anywhere else, they will turn to themselves and make their own
