Hannah Szenes was a remarkably brave woman who worked to defeat the Nazis in World War II. She was born in 1921 in Budapest and she herself had Jewish descent. She moved to Palestine in 1939 and studied at Nahalah Agricultural School and then Kibbutz Sedot Yam. She heard about the situation in Germany and surrounding countries and Hitler’s dictatorship. Yearning to make a difference in the war, and aid fellow Jews she left the safety of her home to join the British Army. 30,000 Jewish Palestinians volunteered along with her, to put their own safety on the line and fight in the war with British Units. From those volunteers 240 were chosen to train for underground missions. From that group a very elite 32 people were selected
