In the second amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America, it states that we have the right to bear arms, so technically speaking, the government can't take away our guns without going against their very guidelines of leading our country or revising the Constitution. As long as society follows the rules on owning a gun, then there is not such a big deal in letting them have them. My family is completely against the government trying to take away our guns, there is a discussion about it at each of our family gatherings for hours on end. Next, mass shootings are happening because the people who are mentally impaired can acquire them through a friend or family member that owns one. The people that are carrying out the shootings have easy access to the guns for them to be able to harm others. This is not just happening in the big cities like New York any more, it's happening in small towns just like Watonga too. Should there be background checks done on the people trying to purchase a firearm? Without any background check being performed, you could be giving it to the next Mercer or Holmes for all you know. Now that would be a gargantuan problem. Finally, the age limits placed on what type of firearm you can purchase at a certain age should remain the same in my opinion.
