My original perception of the story was from the three little pigs point of view. Growing up reading different versions of the story, it was never from the wolf's point of view. After reading it from the wolf's perspective in class the other day I would have never expected for the wolf to actually be a decent and nice character. A lot of writers have written out the story where the pigs point of views seem"correct" because in most similar short stories, there Is always one bad character which in this case was the wolf. In this version, the wolf is actually a good character who went over to the pigs house to ask for a cup of sugar he needed in order to make his dear granny a birthday cake. The third pig also refused to open the door and lend him a cup of sugar as well as not being the smartest with his choice of words towards the wolf. Today's society relies on the media to know what's happening around the world and they have a tendency to believe whatever they see. We

Throughout the novel The Lord of the Flies by William Golding, Piggy is perceived as the most rational, intelligent, and understanding character. Although he is the one to see the correct way for the boys to organize themselves and has the most useful ideas in the group, he is also the most frequently abused and is rarely addressed. The reason for this is that apart from being described with what society pictures to be flaws such a his corpulent structure, underdeveloped vision, and his outspoken annoying personality, Piggy is disliked for being the most mature and adult-like figure of all the boys as well. First off, Piggy is presented to the readers as physically vulnerable, weak, and full of imperfections and in result, is often easily…

At the beginning of the novel, the respected pig Old Major utilizes the technique of pathos to incite fear into the animals, persuading them to accept his ideas. In his speech, he explains to the animals how their “lives are miserable, laborious, and short” (Orwell 5). With this line, in addition to an elaborate explanation of their soon-to-be deaths, Old Major employs pathos by using idea of misery and violence to incite fear, which helps promotes his idea of animalism. As the novel continues, the pigs continue to gain power by threatening the other animals, furthering their corruption. Napoleon forces several animals to admit to crimes of treason, despite their innocence, and “when they had finished their confession, the dogs promptly tore their throats out” (Orwell 84).…

The truth of who you really are became a fallacy to the ears of many young minds, including mine. Implanted since I was a young child, you were always portrayed as the “Big Bad Wolf” who treated the three little pigs as delicious prey rather than a friendly neighbor who wanted to be more than an acquaintance. I question the reasons why you would let the media tarnish your name in such an evil manner. From Walt Disney creating a cartoon short called “Disney’s Silly Symphony: The Three Little Pigs” to Roald Dahl writing the story “The Three Little Pigs”, these two forms of art made me ask these three questions, why did you eat the pigs, even though you just wanted a cup of sugar? Were you also the same wolf who attack a little girl named Little…
