To satisfy his inner turmoil, Adolf Hitler projected his own internal struggle onto the world stage. He was able to take advantage of the German people’s plight brought about by the rigors placed on them as established by the Treaty of Versaille which socially and economically bankrupted the nation. Under Adolf Hitler’s leadership, the Nazi party took control of Germany and used it to his advantage. The party eventually grew into a mass movement that ruled the country while the German’s were unaware of the party’s true motives. Initially, in 1919, a group named the German Worker’s Party was established. This party promoted the idea of German pride as well as anti-semitism. The group, also similar to Hitler’s beliefs, was extremely opposed to the Treaty of Versaille and it’s unjust conditions. Hitler was a very charismatic public speaker and very persuasive which enabled him to manipulate the Germans. With his speeches, he was able to attract many people including new members that were in favor of blaming the Jews for the problems Germany faced and continued to exalt the idea of the Aryan Master Race. Hitler took advantage of a time in German that was filled with economic depression as well as unemployment. The Nazis were using the existing situation and propaganda against the government that was ruling to win the elections. It was in 1933 that the first concentration camp was established in Dachau. This particular camp began with political prisoners and eventually led to the devastating camp that held the souls of thousands of Jews that died in that very camp through execution, malnutrition, and disease. This was just the beginning of the traumatizing torture that the Jews were going to face for years. Hitler’s victims who he wanted brutally tortured or killed were the people he considered “unfit.” These members included elderly, youth, physically or mentally handicapped, gypsies, homosexuals and other “abnormal” people in his eyes. Hitler focused on undermining the postwar international order. He made the decision of pulling Germany out of the League of Nations and then completely disregarded the Treaty of Versaille by building the German army way past their limits.
