Islam, which literally means "surrender" or "submission," was founded on the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad as an expression of surrender to the will of Allah, the creator and sustainer of the world. The Quran, the sacred text of Islam, contains the teachings of the Prophet that were revealed to him from Allah. The key to Islam is the belief that Allah is the one and true God with no partner or equal (basically saying there is no other god like such). The founder of Judaism is said to be Abraham, whom they consider him to have lived around 2000 BCE. Others often regard the true founder of Judaism to be Moses, who is traditionally considered to have lived around 1400 BCE. Christians believe the founder of Christianity was Jesus Christ. To Christians, He is the Messiah and one of the central figures in their faith. Catholics believe Jesus chose Peter to be the first head (Pope) of the church; But, the founder is still recognized as Jesus Christ the son of God.
