The attacks from 9/11 marked the life of Americans for eternity. A lot of people lost their lives, however, a few of them survived. John Stiastny a Police officer at New York City Police Department was one of the lucky ones that made it. According to the 9/11 memorial website Stiastny was hit by falling debris and taken to Bellevue Hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and injuries to his neck. The events that took place on 911 changed his life since his efforts to participate fully in the rescue and recovery effort were cut short by his injuries. After 16 years what made him go on was the love for his country and his wish to show that Americans are not going to give up so easily. His daily life has changed since that day since
