Warren T. Norman Personality Traits

The five basic factors that psychologists depend on as the main dimensions of personality are known as the big five. These traits include openness, conscientiousness, extraversion, agreeableness, and neuroticism. These traits can easily be remembered by using the acronym OCEAN. Personality psychologist, Warren T. Norman, helped develop this five-factor model. Some of my personality test results that I do not agree with are that I am somewhat conventional and that I tend to become anxious and nervous. Although I like feeling accepted by others, I do not believe that I am ordinary. I am always open to new experiences and meeting new people. However, I am not always open to crazy, over the top experiences. In spite of the fact that some situations do tend to make me feel anxious or nervous, I do not always feel that way. I am usually very calm and good at dealing with stressful or difficult situations. The personality test also concluded that I am neither organized or disorganized. I agree with this because it all depends of what it is that I am being organized for. An example of this would be that for school I am generally always losing my assignments in my folders. However, at home I tend to keep my room clean and everything where it belongs and is easy to find. Another result that depends on the circumstance is …show more content…
It was fascinating to see how similar my results were to the ones that my friends got from the personality test about me. It was especially interesting that our results were the same about it being easy for me to express my irritation with others. Being so open about my irritation is a weakness because it can often get me into trouble and make people get the wrong idea about me.
