Waffle/Pancake Mix

Decent Essays
Waffle/Pancake Mix like no other with garbanzo and fava bean flour. Used ground flax seeds with water as egg replacement for this and mixed with unsweetened soy milk to make it dairy-free. Served with strawberries and sugar-free peanut butter.

Protein Power Smoothie: Unsweetened soy milk and unsweetened peanut butter, spirulina (high and complete protein source, antioxidant, and immunity booster), one banana and bunch of green leaves.

Thought lowering sugar intake was not possible. These days, I already feel uncomfortable consuming foods high in sugar that it would make me feel ill. Maybe I can push for the 30-day sugar free challenge soon!

Shared this breakfast for #Leicadorable. I and @mrgomezb are enjoying serving nicely plated meals

Waffle Now servers should have a higher payrate. The tipped minimum wage can not combat the inflation rates of today. If the tipped minimum wage has been the same since 1991, then that would mean it has been twenty-seven years since there has been an update in payment. Not to mention, that inflation has increased prices by 75% in these past twenty-four years. Waffle Now servers need a pay raise in order to have a livable wage.…

I plan to change my behavior by resolving to eat significantly less sugar than I currently do. On Lab 1.2, my nutrition score was two out of ten (2/10). I eat few fruits and vegetables, I never consider how many saturated or trans fats I consume and I eat copious amounts of sugar on a daily basis. The only reason I achieved a score of two is because I rarely skip meals, preferring to eat continuously. Despite these bad habits, I am not overweight.…

Waffle Now is a restaurant that has, until now, chosen to pay their employees below minimum wage so that their servers can make up for what they do not revieve from the company in tips. The idea behind this is that the need for good tips from their costomers will create an incentive for employees doing well at their jobs. This is a plan that only works in theory, as there must always substanital tips from cusomers to fully make up for what the workers are not paid. Recently, the Waffle Now employees have found that the wages they recieve are simply not enough for them live on alone. Not only is this true, but they have also found that there is research on how this incentive-based tipping system is systematically broken, outside of Waffle Now and that other states have already begun to move away from tipping in its entirety.…

People argue what is better- waffles or pancakes? It is very hard to find differences, besides the looks and the texture. But still, some people prefer one to another, and they argue about which is better. People say pancakes are more fun to make and shape. But others think that eating a waffle is better, because of the delicious, crunchy texture.…

Most things, even with low sugar values, aren’t worth it for me and don’t have enough of a nutritional value to consider eating. Another issue I noted with Elizabeth deciding to eliminate sugar from her diet was the consistency of it. If Elizabeth cuts out sugar completely and loses 20 pounds, and then goes back to eating how she was previously, she will gain the weight right back. I’ve been told by my nutritionist and physician that whatever I do to lose weight form this point forward (because my body is pretty much done losing weight form the surgery), I must be committed to do that that for the rest of my life if I want to maintain that additional loss.…

Type 2 diabetes is a disease that causes sugar levels to rise higher than normal. It also happens to be the most common form of diabetes. With type 2 diabetes the body doesn't make or use insulin properly. The pancreas makes extra insulin to make up for the body not using the insulin already made, but over time, it's not able to keep up and can't keep the blood glucose level at normal. Insulin is the key regulator of the body's metabolism.…

Going grocery shopping is my favorite thing to do in my free time since I prefer preparing my own meals, which became more interesting to me after all the useful information this class provided me. For the fact that I became more careful in choosing the products I purchase by reading the labels and the nutrition facts, and then make my decision. First, I started buying a new kind of cereals from the Clifton Natural Foods store than the kinds I have been consuming for a long time, which are Kellogg’s corn flakes and honey nut Cheerios. It is called Honey Nut Toasty O’s. The labels that attracted my attention were that this cereal is sweetened whole grain oat cereal made with real honey, no artificial flavors or preservatives, no high fructose syrup, no partially hydrogenated oil, and a stamp that I recognized from the carbohydrates chapter.…

In previous years, I have personally challenged myself to reduce my sugar intake, which in time, made a noticeable change in my overall weight, making me feel healthier. But as always, I slowly start introducing sugar into my body again. In fact, before writing this essay, I had a slice of pizza, and as I was reaching inside the refrigerator to grab a Coke, I paused. I rethought everything I had just gone over from the article and decided to get a glass of water, yet again, I am still here slurping on this delicious milkshake. From personal experience, I know it is very difficult to maintain a healthy lifestyle because there are temptations everywhere, but I still believe this goal is possible.…

The behavior that I would like to change is to stop drinking Coke Zeros or at least limit my intake to one a week. In the south or in Mississippi we have a choice of drinking sweet tea or sodas. I like them both, but my preference is Coke Zeros. I never thought about being addicted to a soda or having the cravings so strong that every time I get into my vehicle, I must have a coke.
