“Quite night”
The sound of Wills voice pulled me from my thoughts. He stared at me waiting for a reply.
“What?” I replied confused.
“I said, quiet night.” He repeated.
“Yes,” I sighed sadly.
Will eyed me, “why do you sound sad? It’s good that it’s quiet” “Not for them it isn’t. The quitter it is means the sicker they are, or worse, dead.” I muttered. Will stopped checking the perimeter and nodded. Before he could try and brighten the mood the loudspeaker came on. “Watcher Lee, please report to the laboratory as soon as possible. Watcher Lee, please report to the laboratory as soon as possible. Thank you.” I handed Will my watchers flash light and headed for the laboratory. “If they ask,” Will shouts after me. “I’ve been on watch all night,” he finishes with a smirk. “I don’t even want to know,” I retort over my shoulder and sprint towards my parent’s lab.
