Importance of Violence Against Women Act known as VAWA
Trump is planning on cutting federal funding (Bolton). It is a bad idea for the president to cut federal budgets because one of the many programs that will be cut is called Violence Against Women Act and it is the only program that tremendously benefits abused women. If the budget gets cut or eliminated there will not be justice for women. Women will lose legal rights against violence that is committed against them.
What is a woman? A woman is a mother, a sister, and a daughter (The importance of women). Women are sacred because they give birth to our future. Women supervise the home, the bills, cook, clean, nurse, and schedule appointments for the family (Ely). For centuries, men have been the most dominating in the workforce, socially, politically and behind closed doors. Women did not have rights in the United States until 1920. (The importance of women). Women’s rights are currently working to have equal rights as men.
There are several ways a man dominates a woman and one way is through violence. This has been going on for a prolonged period. It is one of the most pervasive human rights abuses that takes place in an intimate relationship or by the hands of a stranger. It is one of the

The Violence Against Women Act was intended to change attitudes towards domestic violence, foster awareness of domestic violence, improve services and provisions for victims, and revise the manner, in which the criminal justice system responds to domestic violence and sex crimes (Sacco). Violence Against Women Act is what women need to get justice for violent and sexual crimes committed against them.
