Utopian communities intend to be an idealistic society. The central objective of utopian communities tends to be contrasting, depending on the members of the community and what they want to accomplish. Roughly around the 1840’s the working class struggled because of urbanization and industrialization. These individuals wanted to create the perfect world which conflicted to the real world. There were multiple communities being established. Brook Farm happened to be the most important one.
If I had the potential to create my ideal utopian community I would attempt to make it acceptable for everyone. To start off, my main priority would be equality. I truly believe everyone is equal to one another and should have the same exact rights. Are we really equal in our society today? Yes, we have acts and laws for equality, but that doesn’t mean they are being obeyed to their full potential. We should be treated as human beings and our skill level, not based on our gender, religion, or race. My community would have no division of hate or discrimination. Everyone deserves an opportunity to receive a good education. Nothing about education is cheap and I believe the cost of it is why people turn away from receiving a degree. Once you graduate you receive your diploma and the amount of money that puts you in dept. I would want every person in my community to have access to a higher education. Having free education will end repayment inequality. When a student begins to pay back their loans majority of their money is going straight to interest.
