Us Role In World War 1 Essay

Europe is in constant fighting, and there are many demands for our help in the war. The Allies want us to join their side in the fighting, but America wants to stay neutral in the war to keep peace with both sides. Our Allies will not let us be completely uninvolved, and demand supplies throughout the war. Do to our will to be uninvolved, America has a very big role in World War 1. The role of the United States was important in World War 1 because of President Wilson’s plans for peace, our supplies to the Allies, and our army was not tired from continuous fighting. First, the United States was important because of Wilson’s plans for peace. The people of America want to stay out of the war in Europe, so Wilson pledges to the country he will keep America out of the war. As the war goes on Wilson is finding it harder and harder to keep America out of the war. Wilson starts to create his 14 Points to propose to the European countries. Within these 14 points Wilson demands that there be peace without victory. This was important because the war would end quicker, and it would be easier to keep peace between the countries. The Allies would not let us be neutral any longer. They demanded that we took part in the war in some way. If we did not fight we had to give the Allies supplies that they needed to keep fighting in the war. Most of the supplies the Allies demanded from America were unrealistic. An example of this was that the French wanted 2,000 planes per month. The problem with that was America had only built 800 planes before 1917.
