I believe the most important amendment of the US Constitution is the first amendment, which is the freedom of religion and the freedom of speech. This amendments grants a citizen the basic rights to practice their religion or lack there of without prosecution. Additionally, this amendment gives a citizen the right to express their opinions about anything, even if this opinion is negative about the government and its officials.

In general the amendment functions well by upholding the rights protected by this amendment. Although, periodically in the news cases are brought up about violating 1st amendment rights. As an example, Kim Davis, a clerk from Kentucky, attempted to exercise her first amendment rights, by refusing to issue legal

I would say the most important amendments would be between the first, twenty-second, and nineteenth amendment. The first amendment states, “The right to free speech, press, assembly, petition, and religion”. This amendment is so important living in America because it protects us citizens of this nation with five of the most basic liberties. With the slogan of this great nation being “The Land of the Free” it’s only right that the first amendment gives citizens the right to be free. In other countries, many people have gotten arrested or disciplined for saying something against their government.…

The United States Constitution consists of 27 amendments. Each amendment was written for a specific purpose. The three amendments that I believe are very important to the United States Constitution include the 8th amendment, the 4th amendment and the 13th amendment. These three amendments help to protect the rights of American citizens and make sure that all rights are equal. The 8th amendment prohibits excessive fines and bail, and prohibits cruel and unusual punishment.…

The First Amendment of the United States Constitution is probably the most important, and yet perhaps the most misunderstood and controversial in its interpretation, of all the amendments. Actually, it was considered so important that there was no debate at the time it was presented. It embodies some of our most important ideas about the meaning of liberty and freedom. Isidore Starr, who is recognized as a leader in the fields of law-related and citizen education has stated, “remove the First Amendment from the U.S. Constitution and you strike out the very means of testing the other rights and protesting abuses of government.”…

The first ten amendments to the Constitution (Bill of Rights), entered into force on 15 December 1791, limiting the powers of the federal government of the United States and protecting the rights of all citizens, residents and visitors in American territory. I personally believe that the most important amendments to the citizens of the United States in the Bill of Rights are the first and the last. The first amendment is a necessary right because it protects freedom of speech and the press, religion, and the privilege to petition and assemble. It allows anyone to express themselves freely about their religion, speak openly, and criticize our government. These liberties allow us to speak out against the government.…

The Second amendment also gives us the power to protect ourselves, without the government being able to take it away. This is important because it gives us the right to protect ourselves when our government cannot. On occasion we neglect these write that others have, and we forget the rights that we have. First part of the amendment is the right to free worship and speech. These two rights are relevant in our society today for the reason that it gives us the opportunity to stand up for what we believe in, without being persecuted.
