Every institution has policies and regulations that are meant to govern the handling of situations concerning the particular organization. These have laid down procedures assist in ensuring that there is a pre-determined way of tackling situations that arise in the course of operation. A company without established policies and procedures risks having a disorganized reaction to a crisis which could lead to wastage of resources such as time and money. When there is a clear guideline on what to do in a situation, it saves time and hastens the process of mitigating whatever problem there is. Because of having these policies and procedures, an institution can strategically handle cases.

Some of these policies describe how to deal with certain rare situations. These occurrences include handling emergency situations. Since these emergency situations do not happen on a regular basis, some of the stakeholders may not be fully aware of their role in executing the given procedure. Opposition to some policies may be because the customers feel disadvantaged by the requirements of the systems. For instance, once customers pay for services, they expect a hundred percent delivery of the product (Martinez, 2017). However, a situation may arise that could cause a failure in the provision of the service already paid for. The service provider may have policies to justify their lack of execution of the deal due to a given situation. The customer would, therefore, be at a disadvantage since by having paid for the service, they acquire the rights to the full execution of the service. The airline, then, resulted in the computer-aided random selection of the four passengers who would be coercively removed from the aircraft. Among the selected, three accepted to leave the plane while one declined to leave. The customer that objected, Dr. Dao, argued that he was a doctor and that he needed to see his patients the next day (Wahba, 2017). He explained this as his reason for refusal to deplane. The United Airlines employees involved the aviation security officers of Chicago in removing Dao from the aircraft. It is the violent way in which the officers handled Dao that aroused hostility towards the situation. Dao was pulled from his seat violently and in the process got injured on the mouth and head (Wahba, 2017). Eventually, Dao was taken out of the aircraft by the officers, bleeding and unconscious. The officers held him by the arms through the aisle and dragged him out while other passengers watched. Throughout the ordeal, some passengers left, others recorded the incident while others vocally condemned the officers that assaulted Dr. Dao.
