Undergraduate nursing students performed frequent hand washing using soap and water after getting contact with patient at the hospital. Nurses understood that hand hygiene practices promote patient’s health as well the nurses, and decreased risk for diminishing infectious diseases from one patient to another. They also had advance education on proper hand hygiene technique in clinical during their course. The research proof that nurses wash their hand more than physicians, so nurses need to keep doing their job and meeting the hand hygiene expectation that is required in the field. They need to utilize everything they had learned about hand hygiene during their study including all the steps in the workplace. They still have to wash their hand, even if their put gloves on, and did not touch body fluid with bare hand. Whether they are busy or have a lot of patient to provide a care for, they need to wash their hand immediately after completing assessment. Maintaining hand hygiene keeps both the healthcare providers and patient safe and healthy. Nurses have to reinforce their hand washing technique in the workplace, practice washing their hands with soap and water, and avoid substituting alcohol hand rubs in place of performing hand hygiene. Hospitals need to education their employees about hand hygiene practices and ensure that all the nurses are washing their hands properly after they get done with each patient before moving to the next patient. Hospital also need to evaluate new undergraduate students’ record to ensure that universities are teaching students about hand hygiene practices in clinical, and they understand the importance of handwashing.
