Twins Game-Personal Narrative

I used to go through the motions not making anything out of my life. That was until my dad took me to a Twins game. Ticket in hand I was excited. On this mild day in June I was going to my first Twins game in the new stadium. The sights and sounds of the city of Minneapolis filled my senses. The scrapping of the metro coming to a halt is all I hear. Ticket vendors were doing anything to sell their tickets for tonight's game. Many people dressed in Minnesota Twins attire unpacked from the train like a clown car. It is a flood of blue and white jerseys as we walk to the gates. I felt underdressed in my Twins hat and Drake Bulldogs sweatshirt. I was dreading the trip originally because the radar predicted lots of rain, even though it was beautiful currently. I nudged my dad. “Is the rain still going to hit us?” I questioned. He pulled out his phone and looked at the radar. He showed me the moving image of the colors engulfing a red pin. “It looks like we are going to get drilled still,” he stated calmly “but our seats should be under the overhang.” This is my first time at Target Field, so I have no clue what to expect. We even have a picture in our basement of it. We digress through the lines of people at the gates, no sign of fans from the opposing team. “Beautiful day for baseball, eh fellas?” the man at the gate scoffed. “Absolutely!” my dad responded. Everyone and their moms knew this game would not be great to spectate. Both the records of the teams and the weather were going to be bad We walk around the field just for a small tour. My dad had been here plenty of times so he knew the ropes. The last time I had went to a Twins game it was at the Metrodome “There are lots of places to eat in the stadium,” he mentioned “Just holler …show more content…
We order two burgers and walk down the empty aisles. We got here just in time to watch The Twins warm up, Torii Hunter smacks one deep out to left field. It still amazes me how hard these players can hit something moving so fast. After what seemed like forever of waiting the game began. Around the top of the third inning I felt a raindrop. The small drop of cold water hit right at the back of my neck. I had a feeling this would get rained out. If this would have happened early today maybe we still could have gone to the Mall of America. It was raining heavily but there was no sight of lightning. Many fans went to take refuge under the overhang. The vendors continued their rounds to the rows of empty seats.
The game so far was lackluster at best and pitiful at worst. It made me disappointed to seeing Joe Mauer fall from being one of the best players at one point. Now that he resided at first base he was not the player he once was. All of the excitement was drained from him. His batting average took a steep decline. But I thought it was good to see that he was still in the league doing what he was doing. It was hard to watch this game when my mind was so occupied. I pulled out my phone and looked at the radar. The pin was getting more engulfed than last time. I nudged him
