Within 3 seconds of meeting people, first impressions regarding your personality are formed via looking at your hairstyle (lafrance,2000). Trichotillomania (TTM) Patients, who have patchy bald spot on scalp, are perceived as unconfident and ugly (Roll & Vernis, 1971). Noticing they may encounter bad experiences at regular salon, some hair stylists offer Trich-Friendly styling services to them. This paper argues that Trichotillomania Salon Treatment is efficient for client managing symptoms caused by Trichotillomania.

For example, suffers reported that they are helplessness towards hair-pulling (Harter, 1999). Therefore, they doubt whether they are capable to perform well in career (TrichStop, 2015). In trich-friendly salon, the patients are given a kit that contains natural hair and this device can serve as barrier to prevent clients from accessing their own hair. Through using it continually, clients won’t have any motivation of hair pulling (BLACER, 2016). Hence, this kit helps clients suspend self-harming behavior.

Reflection

Indeed, Tric-friendly salon are excellent in providing trich-friendly services and support. However, it is notable that suffers always conceal bald spots and won’t seek help from psychologists or stylist actively (du Toit et al., 2001). This reflects that communication between patients and family member isn’t effective (Moore et al., 2009). Therefore, the government should spread the message about what trichotillomania actually is. Besides, family therapy is suggested to patient’s family as it allows family members understand patient’s difficulties and how they can work together to address the issues.
To conclude, we cannot deny the benefits of Tric-friendly salon treatments as it helps the client to control their emotion and boosts confident. Remember, when clients look good, they feel
