The next chapter happens when Katniss is shocked that Prim is chosen out of thousands of names when her name has only been entered once. Katniss then realizes that she has to take action to prevent her sister from taking part in that dangerous game. So Katniss volunteers as a tribute which is allowed. Katniss makes her way onto the stage and the boy tribute is chosen. Peeta Mellark is chosen for the boy tribute and all Katniss can think about is “anyone but him”. She says this because they had an interaction that happened a couple of years ago. It happened shortly after her father died, they didn’t have any food and Katniss was selling some things to have some money to buy food. After not selling anything all day, she gave up.
