Visitors are led directly to the main room to observe the service and celebration. The majority of the people in the group if not all are of Indian ethnicity. They also seem to be middle class or higher and also very respectable people. Their lifestyle is similar to regular people as they carry a family, a job, and those related to a regular life. The average number at the service was about 40 and the majority were men but many of them had families so there is also a large number of women present. Along with families were kids so the age ranged from as young to a newborn up to 50 years old. During the service, the priest did most of the rituals. He was reciting Sanskrit as people were praying. Some gave offerings to the statues showing respect to the individual gods they worshipped. During the entire service, the priest was continuously singing hymns also in Sanskrit. This gave the people a spiritual connection the divine. This was a very relaxed presentation as people were free to leave anytime and has a very light atmosphere even with all the dramatic events occurring. After the main service was over, the people took over to sing and dance to uplifting Indian songs which helped even more with setting an exciting and welcoming tone. They even served food for everybody to end the ceremonies and to give their wishes. This demonstrates the type of community they are and what they believe in. The art and architecture of the interior of the building is very mystical as it has its many portraits of the of the individual gods varying from Shiva the destroyer to the goddess Shakti. Nature is also a highly valued object for worshippers. They believe that the Lotus flower is a very important symbol as it represents life and perfection. They believe that by serving others, they are eventually benefiting themselves and the world. They should be benefiting the community and the society they live in. That exemplifies Hinduism as a unique religion. One of the more unique things they teach is what the relationship between humans and gods is. They believe that the gods have already given us the resources we need to survive and live but humans need to find it in themselves to use those resources to help themselves instead of subjecting to human nature which is to complain. Much like having the ingredients for food to be prepared but ultimately it is up to you to utilize those ingredients to make something. A final teaching they taught is that just accept that of what you do not know or cannot see. An example would be trying to solve whether a person is actually dead or not. How would you know such a difference? Hindus would define this as the atman or the soul leaving the body but there is no physical proof showing the atman literally coming out. This is another of their beliefs as it will do no good to wonder about questions that cannot be answered as it is a waste of time. The basic nature of practicing Hinduism is that it is not about the individual body or mind, but uniting the soul with the divine. They do this by using ancient practices and traditions such as the different types of yogas but they inherit a modern mindset. They have this because if they contain an ancient mindset, this will lose the interest of followers and anybody else seeking to practice it. That is why Hinduism is considered generally lax. It can be practiced anywhere and no regulations are enforced upon anybody.
