Three specific challenges adolescents might face as they transition into adulthood is that of getting a job, going to college and starting a family. For most teens, getting a job (employment) is a way for them to make money, but “in the employment realm, skills training involves teaching youth basic job skills (e.g., word processing) for high demand jobs.” (Hadley, 2010, p.3) in which case not all adolescents have the skills for high demand jobs, but yet “education and career programs were more effective for younger youth than older youth (specifically, youth in their late teens than young adults).” (Hadley, 2010, p.5) giving them the advantage of gaining good employment.
