The paper reviews Title IX law that protects transgender people using the restroom of the gender they identify as. Over the years the people of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) community have been given many rights, as they should. But in the most recent lawmakers’ results of the Title IX law, the nation as a whole conforming to the abruptly forced change. Revising the federal law, Title IX for clarity in the context that states the situations of restrooms being gender specific is imperative. Dozens of cases have been filed by transgender people, who want to use the restroom of their choice in schools and workplaces.…
Target’s transgender bathroom policy gives “perverts and pedophiles” a chance to pounce on their prey, a Mt. Juliet pastor said in a viral video rant. On Friday evening, Pastor Greg Locke of Global Vision Bible Church posted a video on his Facebook page blasting Target’s transgender bathroom policy. His online rant has garnered 14 million views since it went up, according to The Tennessean. Pastor Locke recorded the now-viral video after he visited a Target outlet in Mt. Juliet and was told that he could go to the bathroom that he “self-identified with.”…
Recent in the news I have been hearing about the Trans Bathroom Law and it genuinely confuses me as to why it is such an issues. Why do people care so much about a stranger's genitals that would prompt them to make a law forcing them to use the incorrect bathroom? I am a transman living in Texas just trying to get by. This law affects me and people around me because I am a mostly passing man having to use the Women’s bathroom. I do not understand why forcing a trans person to use the wrong bathroom is more acceptable than having the decency to just let them use the restroom of gender they identify with.…
Declaration Of Independence Preamble When in the course of human events, It is very important for people to speak publicly and not be afraid to tell people about their sexual orientation. Being different isn’t a crime, so everyone should be treated equally to one another. Their fondness doesn’t interpret the persons they are. We as people, should write and petition for our own independence for the World to see and apprehend why we should be independent of sexuality and discrimination. Peoples opprobrium can be harmful occasionally and lead to catastrophes.…
The author argues that anyone who is not phased by breaking the law, wont stop them from entering a restroom that prohibits them from using either. In addition, the author argues that most people would not even notice a transgender using the public restroom, and if they did notice, they most likely would not confront them to find out if they are the right gender for the specific restroom they are in. Transgender is happening more and more, eventually lawmakers will have to figure out what will work and what will not work. For now, we can just hope to use the public restroom privately and safely and not be offended whether you are transgender or…
Maybe people should just avoid using public restrooms. Then there is the similar but different issue of locker rooms. Locker rooms are separated by gender to protect students, so how do we both protect transgendered students and cisgendered students? I wish I could say there was a simple solution, perhaps have four locker rooms rather than two. One for cis males, one for cis females, one for transgender males, one for transgender female.…
Considering the LGBTQ movement has been fighting for the rights of each group within the LGBTQ community there has finally been a breakthrough with the legalization of same sex marriage, but there has yet been a decision on whether trans people can use the restroom of their prefered gender. It has been a major trial and error with the passing of laws for this community…
The transgender community has been constantly fighting for equal rights. The Texas Senate is making their fight for equal rights more challenging by passing the anti-transgender bathroom bill. The anti-transgender bathroom bill contributes to the stigmatization and marginalization of a group that already faces significant discrimination. A study was done on people who identify as transgender in the Texas area. They found that 28% of respondents reported they were denied access to a restroom.…
1. Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta International Airport (KATL) is currently the world's busiest airport serving over 100 million passengers a year. This all began in 1925 when Mayor Walter Sims purchased an abandoned race track in hopes of transforming it into an airfield. First being named Candler Field after the former auto track owners, Atlanta saw its first commercial flight with Florida Airways just one year later. In June of 1930, Delta Air Service (Delta Air lines known as today), performed a trial route from Candler Field to Birmingham Alabama and made it a permanent route soon after.…
This has brought up controversy and protest against the bill. The fear of endangerment to women and young children are being brought up as an issue with the Bathroom Bill. But what about the dangers transgenders may face? While there may be fear of transgenders attacking others in public bathrooms, there have been many incidents where transgenders have been attacked themselves. Transgender doesn’t mean violent offender or pedophile when these claims are made.…
This community faces unique barriers in all settings, from harassment in the street to their workplace. They often struggle to find appropriate and welcoming services when needed. I know the importance of providing a welcoming environment to all individuals and respecting their dignity and worth. It is vital to support this community at all levels and interactions. At a professional level, I a member of the LGBTQ+ committee at my organization and we have been advocating for gender neutral bathrooms and terminology on intake forms for the past year.…
The transgender movement first emerged in 1952, but was formality made into a movement in 1969 with the Stonewall riots, which also was the birth of the LGBT movement. Since then transgender rights and transgendered people, in general, have been a prevalent topic in todays media since the passing of several LGBT laws. The passing of laws in favour of the LGBT, such as, marriage equality law, the transgender community is now focusing on obtaining laws that favour the movement in gaining equal and civil rights. Now ever since the movement emerged there has been a debate over whether there needs to be laws to protect them from discrimination. There are roughly 1.4 million people who identify as transgender in the U.S. and with the increase in…
Each source reveals bias through either the author’s claims, the evidence used in the author’s claims or through the author's ways of persuading the audience to either be in support of the transgender bathroom bill or to be against it. I would say that the interpretation of misinformation comes from both the reader and the writer because the writer may inform the audience of their own viewpoint along with facts and the reader would be the one that would have their own way of interpreting the given information. Based on the the interpretation of the author as well as the viewpoint, the audience is able to have different interpretations of the given information, which can shape the outcome of the next author’s article. My topic is the Transgender…
While the laws continue to be disrupting the community and rights of women, the community continues to act out by having peaceful protests and marches throughout the world. A peaceful resistance does not negatively impact the society when certain members of that society are enacting in the resistance; but the others that do not participate are, in fact, deeply offended by it. Although in my opinion, it sheds a positive light on what the people have to say. Considering the new law about transgenders using the bathroom for whichever gender they were born as bathroom causes an uproar in the lives of Texans now; this law is not only disrespectful to the transgender community, but it can also cause havoc in a place where there should be safety and privacy.…
The Right To Pee Peacefully What would occur if someone entered the women’s bathroom and saw a muscular, bearded man standing at the sink; likewise, what if someone entered the men’s restroom and saw a young woman with beautiful long hair waiting for a stall to open up? These two individuals are obviously in the wrong bathroom, but what if they are being forced to use these restrooms? The man happens to have a female reproductive system; even so, he is currently taking testosterone. Testosterone injections help to increase muscle mass, hair growth, and deepen the voice; as a result, someone who is genetically female who takes testosterone can look and sound like a man despite their genitalia. The woman happens to have a male reproductive…
