Chiguhr is an ex-special operations solider that has something angry raging deep inside driving him to kill for his fancy. “…Greed, pride, machismo, and unexplained evil would seem to indicate that we are witnessing just one more way for humans to destroy each other”. Throughout this movie it is implied that this generation to be the end of the world. There is the suggestion that the monster that is the new generation starts with the loss of common courtesies, “It began with the loss of manners, says Bell…”. McCarthy shows us that Chiguhr is not the only monster in his generation but also shows how evil in position of power is worse. Chiguhr displays brutality with ease throughout the movie. “A brutal killer who wants the money back and wants to see the boy dead, a killer who may prove the old rule that someone has to be the baddest man in the world”. Chiguhr is a killer who displays no sign of emotion throughout the movie, he only displays calm efficiency in his profession. Chiguhr was made for the new generation and narcotics business, “A new kind of criminal, a monster created by and for the narcotics trade. He’s a killer devoid of mercy or conscience or soul, driven by the greed and joy he derives from the power to murder”.
