Only a couple of people could have claimed that they were a successful British general and one of them is Thomas Gage. Thomas Gage was a successful and skilled British general. In these next paragraphs it is going to talk about his early life, adult life and his contribution to the Revolutionary War and that's why he is a good example of a general . When Thomas Gage got out of college to go to the army he started training. For the first years in college he was in the French and Indian War. Shortly after the the 7 years of war he had to go to war again. This time it was against a different group, the colonists. Since he was against the Americans that can only mean one thing he born in England and so it makes sense that is is a British red coat. In the first years of the war he was just a normal soldier. Than after a couple of years he started becoming a general but did not become a full general until just 5 years before he died. When he was in the French and Indian War he got wounded but recovered and was still one of the most successful generals in the war, that's a good example of never giving up. In close to the beginning of the war he was giving the job of punishing people from the Boston Tea Party. Part of being one of the best generals Thomas Gage one many wars with the British. Still with so many wins they could not manage to win the whole Revolutionary War. One really interesting fact is that he actually got sent back home at about the end of the war to later die. When Thomas gage was in the war he sent 700 troops to go and destroy the colonists weapons. Still even after the war Thomas Gage and King George the 3rd did not want to
