The author John Steinbeck publishes a book called “Of Mice and Men” that is about two good friends during the Great Depression. Two guys named George and Lennie when travel to a new farm for new work; so they can achieve their american dream that they both believe. But George has to take care of Lennie and watch over him because he has a mental issue. As they start to work at the new job a lot of problems arise. In the book “ Of mice and men” the main/central theme is loneliness because of the characters actions of Crook and Curley's Wife. In the book there is one character names Crooks in which explains his loneliness. “A guy can talk to you an’ be sure you won’t go blabbin’. Couple of weeks an’ them pups’ll be all right. George knows he’s about. Jus’ talks, an’ you don’t understand nothing. He leaned forward excitedly. This is just a nigger talkin’, an’ a busted-black nigger.” Since the quote from the book explains how Crook is black and no one listens to him. Inferring from this it shows how Crook is experiencing the feeling of being lonely. Also at the time period a lot of blacks were experiencing this feeling. In all this example of this quote clearly shows the main theme of loneliness shown throughout the story through characters actions.
