He is puerto rican and a pioneer in this field because he has been painting in Miami since 1989. He is almost 40 years old and he is known as “Trek6”. He called my attention because he has been firmly breathing paint for more than his half life and he knows very well Wynwood from the bottom. He has lived the transformation of this place. He said that before this was a neighborhood with crack dealers “beaten to death” and streets ruined by violent disturbances. In other hand, a new artistic rejuvenation in Wynwood is growing and Montes cannot attain a place here like before. Others talented artists are the duo “Primary Flight” formed by Darin Bischof “Books III” and Michael Gran “Typoe”. Their accomplishment were finding money to invite new artists during the early days of creation. The most recognized work is a building painted like a big boombox. In Montes’s words, this boombox means “a sign that you are entering South Florida and a way to communicate with Miami.” I find extremely incredible how much work, effort and dedication takes painting these gigantic walls for several hours and several days. Another thing that I found very captivating is the participation of many gifted women that have magnificent pieces. The graffiti is not only about men, it is also about women. Women can give the sexy and feminist style to the walls of Wynwood. In addition, they can change the perception of the street arts. I was surprised with an artwork painted in the exterior wall of Oliver Gal Pop-Up Shop. It is like a can of food (soup) with a touch fashion. The first time that I saw it, I took a picture immediately. This type of art look dimensional because it looks like it is outside of the painted frame. My first though about it is that was created by a woman, for its feminist touch of sparkles, the symbol of Coco Channel and its name as well. What woman do not love Coco Channel? I wished to take that wall with me because I loved it. Additionally, a piece of art that also caught my attention was one created by Vanessa Alice Bensimon. Her work show the eroticism and sensuality of women. The women that she painted are not like we might think because they have diabolic faces, horns around their hairs and an uncommon type of canes with animal’s heads on the top, but at the same time are angelic. Her work exhibit exoticism and a free personality. Besides, her piece of
