When writing one has to use the writing process. The goals are ideas, organization, voice, word choice, sentence fluency and conventions. Ideas are used to let the reader know what is happen next. Organization, make sure that the details are organized chronologically, and the beginning, middle and ending are clear to the reader. Voice, make the writing sound like the writer and use dialogue to show each speaker’s personality. Word choice, the writer uses words that express the feeling the author is experiencing. Sentence fluency; use a variety of sentence length and beginning to create an effective style. One has to write freely without worry of anything. One cannot get everything write in the first draft. Writer should only have one goal that is to get all the ideas on paper. After the first draft, the author should ask the questions such as, “Does the writing have details?” “Is the writing clear?” “Are the ideas organized?” “Is there a topic sentence?” “Are punctuation correct?” Once the first draft is finished one has to look at the goals and questions and used them as revising guides.
