Schools are supposed to help students become well educated and responsible adults, ready for the real world, but getting A’s in class does not necessarily mean someone is ready. In order to help a student, thrive outside of school, the school must teach leadership skills and focus on the students’ needs and talents. Schools are the fundamental stepping stones towards success with not only diligent work but through character building. Evaluating students and determining what each student’s strengths and weaknesses are will help build a pathway to their success. It’s not only about getting good grades, but how the students grow and learn social and cognitive skills. Wright teaches life lessons, cooperation, critical thinking, interpreting text, soft skills, and much more. Without even knowing, many students are building character as well as life altering lessons at Wright. Life lessons are commonly used without even knowing the true meaning behind the phrase.

Thinking critically is when someone is able to comprehend and adapt to important decisions, scenarios, and problems to grasp the overall theme and meaning. In order to think critically, the person must make skillful and fair judgment towards problems and scenarios. Scenarios are possible events that may occur. Being able to adapt and have a conscious problem-solving skill shows leadership skills as well as reliability and intelligence. Wright, as any other college would, really focuses on critical thinking in almost all of their courses. Critical thinking is so important because this talent can fit in almost any scenario or task given. All of my courses have an aspect of critical thinking within the class.
