Some parents give their kids everything they want and this can lead them to be spoiled brats. But have you ever heard of 2 kids who killed their parents with robots? In the story, “The Veldt” by Bradbury, this very thing happens. This action leads to their parents' demise. In the story “the Veldt” the parents give the kids whatever they want. This just goes to show that the kids are spoiled. Later in the story, we can see that the kids are very disrespectful towards their parents and the parents don’t seem to care at all. He turned to his father. “Oh, I hate you!”(Bradbury, pg #12). I know that if I talked to my parents like that, it would be over. Everything will be turned OFF. I also know that even with all the stuff my parents give me, I would never be spoiled to the point I would want to kill my parents for taking a DEVICE away. The evidence also shows that the kids don’t like their parents more than a device. I feel like this is disappointing because your parents are literally the reason you are alive and without their support you wouldn’t even be in this world. I feel that this evidence supports the thesis because it shows that because they are …show more content…
The kids are smart because in the story it says, “Just then they heard the children calling” “Mom dad come quick- quick”, (Bradbury, pg 12).This shows that the kids are smart to call their parents to the vet to trap them in the room. No, do not relate to this. I feel like this is sad and disappointing because parents should not be dying because of their children being spoiled. This supports my thesis because it talks about the spoiled children and how the robots replace the parents to the robots by death by the lions in the veldt. It shows that I understand because at the end of the story the parents die because of them spoiling their children too much and in the quote it is shown that the kids cause the parents

Without their father as a positive influence in their life, the kids are relying on the memory of their mother to get them through hard times. With the dad sick and throwing up, they are taking care of him. It should be the other way around. A father should offer his children guidance and help them out, but instead, they are the ones caring for him as the hurricane approaches. We see the parents through the children’s imagination. The father and mother are compared to animals filled with rage and confusion. The author describes his father’s mouth “snarled and smiled both.” Portraying a wild beast ready to attack and inflict pain without any provocation. Pain, which they were familiar with, “We knew there was something on the other of side pain, on the other side of sting.”…

But, unfortunately the children think that the parents are selfish and trying to do the best for themselves only. In the “Confetti Girl” it is mentioned that, “He leaves the table to scan the bookshelves, and all of a sudden, i care about the tough beef, the mushy potatoes, and the cold beans, why should i eat when my own father has abandoned the food? Nothing is more important than his books and vocabulary words, he might say i matter but when he goes on a scavenger hunt for a book, i realize that i really don't”(paragraph 26). And in the “Tortilla Sun” we see this in the following paragraph, “mom leaned back against the counter and i sucked in a great gulp of air.…

By making the narrator a third party in this essay instead of one of the other characters who was increasingly active in the situation, the reader is able to experience the conflict itself without participating in it or feeling as if the material was distant. The author’s style encouraged me to adopt his ideas because he made it relatable to anyone who has ever had a parent who believed that they knew the best for their kids and tried to force those ideas onto them. The applicable main point and style that the author used in order to impact his readers increased my interest in this piece drastically. The most notable example of style that stood out to me was the incorporation of repetition into his essay because it assisted in getting his point across about true understanding. When the parents realize that the children are starting to have physiological from the parent's lack of control and the amount they have, the parents attempt to turn off all of the technology in-house however, they fail. The parents fail because the children use the nursery to imagine lions and said lions, kill them and the technology in the house remains on. This is a perfect example of my theme because from the overuse of technology the children kill their own parents and have psychological problems from how much time they spent on it. In “The Fallout” the theme is shown again when the father uses technology to attempt to reverse aging in human beings. He is successful with a few of his subjects, however, most of the scientists he tests on are turned into fetuses from reversing…

This switch of power paints a picture of how children are sometimes so entangled in their own selfishness. Children can sometimes be perceived in a Godlike position; every need being met by the parents that just want their children happy.
