The Transtheoretical Model: The Proschaska Diclemente Model

Delaying a task and doing it at the very last minute has become a bad habit of mine, a behavior I wish to change. For some reason, putting things until just before a deadline is fun, especially when it’s a dreaded task.

Procrastination has started to affect my mood as I’m always worried about the task, however, I’m not motivated enough to start doing it. Also, it has started to hamper my performances because I am always in a hurry to finish said task since they’ve been put off until the last minute.

Proschaska Diclemente Model, also known as, the Transtheoretical Model is a model that process the stages a person often goes through when trying to modify a behavior. It is a cycle and it consists of approximately 6 stages; these stages are:
