The administrative structure of the Martin Pollak Project, Inc is a traditional hierarchical structure. One top of the pyramid is Richard Norman, Chief Executive Officer, followed by Janet Olajide, Chief Financial Officer, then Lydia Agbeja, Human Resources. Program directors fall under human resources, followed by supervisors and then social workers, and support staff fall towards the bottom of the pyramid. Depending on what type of support staff an individual is designated as determines their ranking on the pyramid, for instance a foster parent specialist will rank higher than a crisis interventionist. There has been a recent change where only licensed professionals with social work degrees can hold chief executive offices over child placement agencies, those without social work degrees or licensure have been grandfathered in since the change has been made. The reason behind this decision is because there is a belief that social workers professionally are prepared to administer and oversee the program implementation, they are able to integrate the business and programmatic pieces together. The chief financial officer is required because the funding is expected to perform under generally accepted accounting practices (GAP). Under Code of Maryland Regulations (COMAR) there are licensed social workers, they can be at a BSW or MSW level, that can carry cases legally. …show more content…
