The habitat of the Timber wolf is in Canada, Asia, Europe and in the United States. The Timber wolf does not always use habitats except when bearing offspring. They have mostly the same build and they do look fairly similar. The grey wolf has strong jaws with sharp canine and cheek teeth for tearing and chewing meat and to protect itself from potential threats(“The Eastern Timber wolf”,n.d.). They vary in color ranging from white to black and to almost a red-brown color. These wolves weigh anywhere to fifty to one hundred pounds this isn't very big it's the size of a bigger dog or a smaller human.They range from 5 to 5 1/2 feet in length and 25 to 36 inches in height. The locomotion of this animal is simple it uses its strong back legs when it needs to jump or run. It has four legs like the average dog and it uses them to move, find prey, and to live their life. The food chain of the Timber wolf consists of deer, elk, moose and other large animals in the winter when it is harder to hunt because of the weather. When it is not winter the Timber wolf will hunt smaller prey like rodents or fish. The Timber wolf will eat a lot of meat in one sitting or meal and then it will go on for awhile and not eat(“Timber or Grey wolf”,n.d.). During that time, they will hunt and try to find more food for them to feast upon. Most of the time, the Timber wolf will eat small rodents and fish to waver their hunger until the big feast. Their long sharp claws also help with traction in the snow as well. Like dogs, the gray wolf has keener senses of hearing and smelling than humans. Their hearing ability of a Timber wolf is 20 times sharper than a human's.The wolves sense of smell is also greater than humans, it's 100 times stronger than a human's.
