I was at school about to go to my third class. Just before the bell rang, I was called down for an early dismissal. My mom and my little brother came and picked me up. When I got in the car she told me that we were going to go to see my grandpa. He was very sick at the time and the doctors did not know how much longer he would live. They said it could be weeks or even days. Little did we know his last day would be that soon. When we got to his house we went into his room to see him. He was not doing very good. He could hardly breath or talk and he just laid there. I gave him a hug and then left the room because it was hard for me to see him like that. I just sat in the other room and waited. I was not sure what I was waiting for exactly, but I just kept waiting. Later on I heard someone crying. It was my grandma. Then my mom came into the room and told me and my brother that my grandpa just passed away. I walked into his room. My grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins were all crowded around him. My aunt walked over to me and held me in her arms. After a while my uncle called my grandpa’s nurse and told her that he had passed away. Then we called the funeral home and the owners came over. They asked us to step out of the room while they put my grandpa on a stretcher. They carried him out and took him to the funeral home. My grandma arranged the funeral for the next day. When the day approached we all piled into the car and drove to the funeral home. At the Funeral there was music playing. The service went on for about an hour and when it was over, we all said goodbye to my grandpa. All of the boys in my family carried the casket to the funeral car and everyone else followed behind them to the cemetery. When we got to the cemetery we walked over to the spot where my grandpa would be buried. There were chairs set up and flowers all around it. We sat in the chairs and had a moment of silence.
