The thirteen colonies formed Provincial Congresses that replaced the old colonies government this died down loyalism. Provincial congress which are extra legislative branches in some of the 13 colonies; later these were renamed as states. The Continental Army was an army formed by the patriots with leader George Washington. George Washington was born on February 22, 1732, in Westmoreland County Virginia.
