Essay On Evil And Moral Evil

From the class I’ve learned that there are two kinds of evil, natural evil and moral evil. Natural evils are natural circumstances such as tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes. Moral evil results from human actions such as murder, theft and rape. The question that is risen if God is all good, then why does evil and suffering exist in the world? Just within the last few months, on the news there have been reports of tragic school shootings and natural disasters, and if God is all good why does this happen. Some questions that can come from the actions of God like why wouldn’t God prevent a young child from having cancer or like the Vegas situation where lots of people were killed by a deranged shooter which leads to how can a loving, yet all-powerful, God permit evil and suffering. Some can think from seeing the world we live in that whether God is truly all loving or even that if maybe God simply does exist at all. A quote I heard from surprisingly the movie Batman vs Superman, help me think it through, which was “if God is all good then he is not almighty, if he is almighty then he is not all good”.
