The call to action is when the hero is asked to go on a journey. The refusal of the call is when the hero refuses to go on the journey. Super natural aid is when the hero is given something to help him on his journey by some supernatural entity. Crossing the threshold is when the hero enters the darkness for the first time. The belly of the whale is when the hero gets into trouble in the dark world. Or as Ann Cutler describes it, “…trials, temptations, frustrations, and failures for the main character. Once the hero makes it through the dark part of the Hero’s Journey he enters the return stage. This when the hero crosses back over to the light side as a master of both the light and dark worlds. However as of now Logan is beginning the initiation stage. There are six parts to the initiation stage: The road of trials, meeting the goddess, woman as temptress, atonement, apotheosis and the ultimate boon. The road of trails includes all the things the hero has to go through: trials, battles, etc. Meeting the goddess is when the hero meets his mentor. Sometime during this stage the mentor dies. Woman as temptress is when the hero is deterred from continuing his journey, usually by a woman. Atonement is when the hero overcomes a major obstacle which is keeping him from continuing. Apotheosis is when the hero becomes all powerful, even god like (Campbell). The final part is the ultimate boon; this is when the character accomplishes his goal or gets what he had been after.
