The thing is you don’t need to be “wealthy” to understand why you don’t see many of these kinds of people donating whatever they can. I feed the middle school first, wipe down the tables (after cleaning up the trash they leave behind) and repeat for the high schoolers, from 3:30 to 5:45. Is the the best job in the world obviously not but it's manageable. Now here’s the thing, when I get my paycheck I always have the option of cashing it out and donating all to charity because my parents already support my basic needs so what do I need the extra money for. It’s the sensation that you get when you get that envelope in your hands and you say to yourself that you’ve earned this and you feel so good that you decide to reward yourself not give it a way, Did those people that you’re giving the money work those hours after school giving un valuable free time, I think not so why would spend money in them when instead you would prefer to reward your hard work and buy yourself a pair of new
