The setting plays a major role in “The Scarlet Ibis” In fact the Aurthor James Hurst once said that there are three “characters”in the story The setting of this story took place in North Carolina in the country where boy’s could run free and they could explore the great pine behind the barn and they would cross fields to get to the Swamp.Even tho Doodle was disabled it didn’t stop him from going with his brother to go explore the good ol country Now let’s try to pictures them doing this in a big city. I believe it would it would be hard for them to adjust in a big city.
