They made sure the students had the accurate immunizations and eye exam to continue to have a healthy and productive school year. So as things changes you can look over all the goals that were set and examine if they were met for child’s appropriate development. Notify parents…
Child protection/ Safeguarding policy of my setting states how to respond to allegations or suspicions of harm/abuse made by the child or young person. It is very important that all the staff members are aware of appropriate response to the disclosure of harm, abuse by the child otherwise it can damage the situation, confidence of the discloser in school and may result in failure to act quickly. It clearly states that staff members should not decide whether or not the abuse or harmful act has taken place but one must report any concerns related to child protection to appropriate authorities. A responsible staff member who reports the concern gets full support and appropriate response.…

All work places should have clear policies and procedures in handling concerns regarding children. Disclosure of a child being abused, harmed or bullied can happen any time and can be very shocking. Making a child feel safe and comfortable may help the child open up better. Listen carefully to what the child has to say, stay clam at all times and try not to show shock or disbelief. Accepting what has been said no matter how deep it may be, most importantly reassuring the child and giving them the right support and comfort they need will help the child.…

Mandated reporting is meant to increase the safety net for children. By expanding the safety net to include those that are already interacting with them on a daily basis the chance that someone will notice signs of abuse are increase exponentially. These laws were necessary, not because those interacting and working with children and families were callous and uncaring; professionals working with families are often concern with the sequelae of such accusations. There are many reasons a professional may second-guess the wisdom of making such reports. One of the primary thoughts in my mind when reporting suspected child abuse or neglect is that this type of accusation will irreparably destroy any working relationship they may have with the family.…
