The Quick Mime/ Show me seed strategy has students brainstorm the important events from a story. Students then think about emotions that are the result of the plot. Students then pantomime as a class the emotions that they listed. I think this would be great to relate to the realistic fiction genre of literature. This activity provides an opportunity for students to understand emotions, and the realistic fiction genre gives this activity real-world meaning. This activity being done in unison ensures that all students have a safe place to explore the emotional and plot development of the characters in the text. Students can relate to the characters in their realistic fiction text, and this activity will connect students to these characters more.
