They are skill level, personality, trait anxiety and task complexity. Initially, we have skill level. Skill level can affect one’s performance for instance, if the subject being pressured don’t have enough practice before a given task, they will tend to go under strong pressure and have the chance to not perform well. Another factor that can influence performance is personality. Based on beliefs of some psychologists, people who are outgoing or extroverts have the chance to perform better in high-pressure situations. Opposite of this, they believe that introverts are effectively performing when they are receiving less pressure. The third factor that can influence an individual’s performance is his trait anxiety. In this case, we will consider trait anxiety as the level of a person’s “self-talk”. If a person has high self-confidence, he is more likely to perform well under pressure because their self-talk is under their control which can help them to go with the flow and they can still concentrate in the situation given to them. In contrast, people who have low self-confidence and the tendency to always question themselves are likely to be easily distracted by their self-talk and tend to lose their focus in pressurized events. Lastly, task complexity can be best described as the level of effort and attention a person should render for him to be able to complete a certain task successfully. People under simple activities can receive high level of pressure but those people under complex activities should receive calm and low level of pressure. We should be reminded that these are just factors that can influence one’s performance. This doesn’t necessarily mean that they are the reasons that affect people’s behavior in a given
