The Poem 'Nothing Gold Can Stay'

In the poem Nothing Gold Can Stay i think it means that all the great things in life cannot stay because their only there for a very short time in your life.
The line” But only so a hour” i think it comes a few times in your life, and in the line” Hardest hue to hold” probably means it’s hard to keep what you want for a long time. But overall the whole poem Nothing Gold Can Stay is a poem of not able to hold onto something for a long time.

I think the poem to them means that Ponyboy can't be long for any longer because either socs will find him or either his own gang the Greaser will find the location that he is hiding in and go get him, but then later on after johnny caught on fire that that's when he can't stay on this world for long because

In the novel The Outsiders, Ponyboy shared a poem titled Nothing Gold Can Stay with Johnny while saying he didn’t understand the signification of the poem, but it related to him more than he thought. The few lines of the poem are, “Natures first green is gold, her hardest hue to hold, her early leaf's a flower but only so an hour.” This line compares green with the colour gold, implying that green is the most precious colour in nature because it is the hardest for it to be preserved. Green leaves change to different colours, and later on in winter they die and fall off their tree. The other line talks about flowers and how in the beginning flowers bloom and are beautiful, but after a little time, they wilt and die.…

Anthony Alvarez Period:2 The Suicide That Didn’t Make Sense Richard Cory poem interests me because of the fact that he had a marvelous life in my opinion and just threw it all away by killing himself. If I had that life I would savor it and never let any minutes of my life go to waste. The poem relates to a lot of events that happen like the shooting in Vegas because after he injured a lot of people and killed a couple people he shot himself in the head to end it all, not only that but they said the guy who did it had a good life. This is why I chose Richard Cory poem.…

The meaning of the poem “Nothing Gold Can Stay” by Robert Frost is that nothing is going to last forever. He shows this with the comparison of nature to life. The beginning and ending of a day as we see the colors of dawn begin and the colors fade into dusk and darkness. Likewise, the growth of children, from their birth and innocence until their death and sometimes cynicism that they have learned through life as we grow from the wonders of life and the beauty that surrounds us, to understand that life is valuable and precious to us. Yes, we all must age and die, but future generations will be born and live on and…

The poem “The Halo That Would Not Light” is talking about a person who was on the edge of going to Heaven or Hell. It could mean that this person might have done something near the end of his life that decided his fault. In the end the person’s fate was not the one they were wanting in the end. The theme and symbolism portrays the poem extremely well, and it will help you better understand.
