The Ordinary Girl: The Diary Of Anne Frank

Anne Frank’s diary talks about the diary of a young Jewish child named Anne Frank who was forced to hide due to the persecution happening in Europe. The perspective of a 15-year old girl during the time of World War II was highlighted in the book. The thoughts, feelings, emotions, and events that happened in the life of Anne Frank living under unusual conditions were presented in the book. It also describes the perception of Anne Frank about herself, the people around her, and life in general as well. Furthermore, the book illustrates the way how a young girl matures in very special circumstances. Like any other person, Anne Frank was just an ordinary girl. The only difference is that she grew up at extraordinary times. The story starts on the year 1942. At first, Anne lives in a normal kind of life writing about her friends, her academic performance, and her crushes on boys. I was amazed on how she was able to stay hopeful considering her situation. Her attitude towards others made me admire her more since there are people wanting to kill her but she still managed to see the goodness of others. Hatred and anger wasn’t able to fill her heart despite her dreadful situation. Anne was so remarkable in almost every way even in the worst times.
Generally, The Diary of Anne Frank tells us that everyone has the right to live and to experience freedom. Being of different race or religion doesn’t mean that they should be treated differently and harshly. I learned from this book that every person deserves to be treated fairly in all conditions. I would definitely recommend this book to people who are fond of reading survival and historical books since there are so many things and lessons to learn from this
