Odysseus is loyal, responsible, and put himself last for others. One-way, Odysseus is a hero is when Odysseus went to Circe’s island. When Circe took his men and turns his men into pigs. Odysseus did not turn and run away, he went back to get his men by threating to kill her and he was showing that he will come back for his men. When Odysseus had to sacrifice 6 men to the Skylla and when he tried to fight her she ate 3 more men and when Circe told him not to fight. When Odysseus was running from the Cyclopes and going towards the boat Odysseus does the dumbest thing in the book. Odysseus yells his real name and where his lives to the Cyclopes and also yelling at the Cyclopes for not treating them right. Odysseus’ men say, “ God sake, captain! Why bait the beast again? Let him alone!” (line 117-118 page12) But, Odysseus didn’t listen he kept yelling at the Cyclopes, “ I would not heed them in my glorying spirit…” (line 524 page 12). Heroes do make mistakes and nobody is perfect, and out of all the evidence found in the story, Odysseus is qualifying as a hero. Odysseus is a hero, because most of the evidence is positive action he has done to save people. He has tried to save his men and tried to take them all back home, but didn’t make his men back home. He put his soldiers and family first and made his mission very clear and that is to making back home. Heroes make mistakes and also make dumb decision during their journey, but that is the whole part of being a hero so you will not make the same mistake
