We burn fossil fuels to run your cars or to help with keeping the power and or heat in your house on. We even use them for things like building houses or roads or even skyscrapers. Without the advance of using fossil fuels, the world would look totally different than that of what you see today. The entire world runs off of something as simple as fossil fuels to keep it functioning.
There are three main types of fossil fuels. These include coal, oil, and natural gases. Coal is mainly used for power plants. Oil is used for so many things like lubricating your cars or the oil they put down after repaving a road. Also there is a very interesting …show more content…
Greenhouse gases are a big part in our environment because it causes unnatural amount of the sun's radiation to be locked in the atmosphere. This is called climate change. Most areas are said to have an increase of maybe four degrees celsius but some are thought to be increasing as much as seven degrees celsius. There will be more over all precipitation and there will be warmer winters and humid summers.
The second consequence is the destroying of the ozone layer. A consequence of the destruction of the ozone layer it causes a huge increase of skin cancers. The depletion of the ozone layer also causes an increase in temperatures around the world. The biggest hole is over the continent of Australia.
One degree increase of temperature in the oceans around Australia is helping to destroy the Grand Reef. The temperature change is causing animals of colder nature to die off. It is also causing glaciers and ice packs around the world to melt and decrease. According to the Discovery Channel’s Frozen Planet, On Thin Ice, the ice packs/shelves in Antarctica is 40% less than it was 20 years ago. Because of this decrease, animal habitats are getting smaller. For example, the polar bear species has less habitat space for breeding and feeding; and the penguins habitat is substantially …show more content…
There have been over 2,033,920 diagnosis due to these factories. Asthma is the main culprit of particulate pollution. Asthma is a condition in which your airways swell and it becomes difficult to breathe properly. If left untreated, asthma can lead to death. Allergies are also caused by particulate pollution. Though they may not cause death, they cause lots of things like rashes or congestion making it hard to breath. In 2011, there were 30,100 premature deaths due to particulate pollution. These are just few of the many diseases particular pollution causes.
Even the earth itself gets in on the act of fossil fuels being burned via volcanoes. In fact we just had a volcano eruption November 21, 2017 on the island of Bali. This eruption put out five years worth of man made pollution in hours. It was so bad, it stopped air flights from entering or leaving the boundaries of the island for a
