Paragraph One We as a society, are very distinctive amongst each other when talking about little culture. For example, since we are all apart of different cultures, we all can categorize ourselves in different categories. We all can identify in different ways. As shown in the video “The Nature of Culture”, each culture adapts to situations in different ways, and finds different solutions to problems. We all face the same problems, according to the video. “The need for food, for shelter, for solace, for self expression, for sex, and law and order”. Even though we may go about things differently in each culture, we all strive for relatively the same outcomes. We can say that this is apart of big culture, things we all have in common as humans. These cultures that we are apart of have been taught to us, and we have been immersed into them since we were born. Once we see how we can relate to others, we can try and identify our problems. It will also be easier to solve these problems when people realize that it affects all of us as a culture, and not just certain individual sub cultures. These key idea of culture can help us see what we need to do to solve the worlds problems. These ideas when connected send a significant message to global citizens that we are all affected by what happens within each culture and the problems that they face. We all come from the same place, we are all equals, which means that we all are responsible for what goes on in the world and are able to help. For example, there are refugees who come from many different cultures, and a lot of people don’t want to help them because they believe that it is outside of their control or that it doesn 't affect them. The International Rescue Committee (IRC) “helps people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster to survive, recover, and gain control of their future.” They offer volunteer opportunities such as tutoring, mentoring refugee families and individuals, assisting refugees to develop effective job seeking and interview results, and helping maintain a New Roots
