Abolishing the NFL would be a very complicated task to do. But the repeated concussions are leading to a brain degenerative disease, C.T.E.., by former players. C.T.E. also known as Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy is a progressive degenerating brain disease most commonly found in athletes that suffer repeated blows to the head. The trauma to the head creates for the progress of degeneration in the brain to speed up and causes for an abnormal protein known as tau. The tau build-up slowly kills brain cells and reduces the mass of the brain. C.T.E. is an untreatable disease than can only be diagnosed in an autopsy, after it has done all of its destruction. Impaired judgment, aggression, depression and suicidality are only a few of the many symptoms that occur with the disease. In football once the head experiences trauma, brain cells are automatically lost which of most cannot be regained, causing for the brain to deteriorate without the help of a disease. A tackle that slams a player to the ground happens at least one hundred times during just one game. That is one hundred times where a player loses brain cells and greatens their risk of developing a brain degenerative disease. The bone jarring tackles cause for many psychological problems to occur.
