Born in 1735, Paul Revere grew up in Massachusetts to later become an American Patriot, known for his acts of bravery. Paul is also known for many, many accomplishments and inventions. This is the story of Paul Revere.
Paul Revere was born on January 1,1735 in North End of Boston, Massachusetts. Paul was the son of Apollos Rivoire, a French immigrant and silversmith, and Deborah Hitchborn of Boston Massachusetts. He was the third born child, but unfortunately he would be the oldest of seven children to survive. Paul attended the North Writing School. He quit school at the age of thirteen, Paul then started apprenticing with his father as a silversmith. Young Revere was a good craftsman and a smart boy.

The British intended to raid Lexington and Concord. Later, Paul’s ride was written in a poem by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow. “The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere,” this poem was written much later.
Paul Revere set out to alert the countryside that the redcoats were marching. Paul was joined by several other riders. He searched for Samuel Adams, and John Hancock. Paul reached them in Lexington. He alerted the Lexington minutemen in time. The next morning the Revolutionary War began.
During the war, Revere became a messenger for Massachusetts Committee of Safety. He saw the attack by the British troops and warned the patriots. Paul devised a signal by two lanterns in the north tower or north church. One lantern meant the troops took the longer route, on land. Two lanterns was the shorter route, from the water. Paul retired in 1813 at the age if 76, leaving the business for his sons, and grandsons to run, which is still in operation today. He also lost his wife, Rachel shortly after his retirement. Paul Revere died at the age of 83, at his home in Boston Massachusetts, on May 10, 1818. Paul Revere is remembered for many accomplishments. Dentist, engraver, courier, lieutenant, store owner, organizer, and businessman are just a few of his accomplishments. He is mostly known as an American silversmith. Paul was committed to his family. If one of his businesses was slow, he turned his attention to another. Paul made sure his family was taken care of.
Paul Revere played a huge part in American history. His acts of bravery and accomplishments have forever left imprints. He was a positive role model not only in history, but in everyday acts of life. Paul believed in himself, his businesses and in the United States of America. He wanted to build a strong America.
