Analysis Of Human Trafficking: Modern Day Prostitution

Not all of the prostitutes you see are just prostitutes; some are victims. Human trafficking is the trade of humans, usually through sex slavery or forced labor. In many people’s opinions it is modern day slavery. There are both men and women who have complete control over a child or a woman, and their victim may feel trapped or scared. Do not mistake this term or the way society portrays it; it is not solely based on sex. An article written by ACLU, American Civil Liberties Union, “Human Trafficking: Modern Enslavement of Immigrant Women in the United States” reminds us that, “While some trafficking victims are forced to work in the sex trade, many others are forced to perform other types of labor, such as domestic servitude, factory work …show more content…
The presentations should inform children on the things traffickers do and say to lure victims in. Furthermore, it should reveal something to look for in someone that may already be a victim of trafficking. Also, inform the students what human trafficking really is and that it is not just your common pimp tricking young women into trusting them. A sign could be something as simple as a man telling one that he has a job for them, but he needs them to keep the job a secret. If children are further educated on this topic they would not be blind to the signs that a trafficker or a victim is showing. However, there are going to be some complaints about this way of handling the …show more content…
Next, convince them that this is a problem that needs to be solved and taught to others. With enough people a presentation can be made with information on trafficking, victims and traffickers and hopefully someone that has experienced trafficking will volunteer to help spread the word. With all of this information it would be easier can call local schools and pitch the idea to them. Starting at high schools may be easier than starting at middle schools, because their parents may be more accepting of the presentation. With hopes that the journey around local high schools is successful, the next goal would be to pass on this information to eighth graders. After, local young adults will know more about human trafficking and will be knowledgeable on traffickers and whom they target. This is a great way to spread awareness and hopefully lessen the numbers of victims of human trafficking. In conclusion, human trafficking should be recognized much more than it is now. There are college students that have little to no knowledge on trafficking and that is a problem. Even though trafficking has concepts that are vulgar to children’s ears, it should still be taught to them. Being aware is better than being sheltered and can even lower the numbers of victims. With approval and encouragement from parents, teachers, and my peers, human trafficking can be taught and lessened. Let’s

Concussions are a constant and exceedingly common in children, teens, and high school athletes over the years. I chose this topic because in my high school sports career I have unfortunately gotten two concussions for soccer. Along with players not wearing the proper articles, they could overlook a possible concussion due to the low severity of it.…

Research The human trafficking of juveniles is a nationwide issue and effects children of all races and socioeconomic backgrounds. Although the number of juveniles exploited for sex continues to rise in the United States, the research is fairly new, so there is a lack of evidence for interventions (Sapiro, 2016, p. 100). Gathering precise data is difficult for multiple reasons, but what is known about the thousands of youths that are trafficked each year in the Unites States is that the average age of a victim is fourteen years old (Boxill, 2007, p. 140). Human trafficking has a revenue that varies between fourteen to twenty billion dollars a year and many victims are hesitant to come forward and seek help because they believe their life…

When someone says the words “human trafficking,” images of emaciated children, forced to work long hours for a pittance in third world countries most likely comes to mind. However, in recent years, the face of a trafficking victim in the United States has changed. In the state of California, 79% of reported trafficking crimes are related to the commercial sex industry, and in 2011, 80% of sex trafficking victims in the U.S. were American citizens. While many immigrants and nationals of other countries are still targeted, impoverished American women are being lured into captivity by promise of a better life by traffickers. Immigrants and US citizens alike are being trafficked at an increasingly higher rate; this is in part due to the fact that vulnerable, poor children are most preyed upon and the rate of poverty in the US is increasing.…
